Dr. Lawrence Korngut is a neurologist, clinical neurophysiologist, and Professor at the University of Calgary’s Cumming School of Medicine. A leader in neuromuscular diseases, he directed the Calgary Neuromuscular Program and ALS and Motor Neuron Disease Clinic. He led the development of the University of Calgary Neuromuscular Clinical Trial Program since 2009 having conducted over 80 clinical trials of new therapies for conditions including ALS. Dr. Korngut founded and leads the Canadian Neuromuscular Disease Registry (CNDR), which supports research and advocacy through data from over 6,000 patients at 48 clinics nationwide. As Director of Innovation at the Hotchkiss Brain Institute, Dr. Korngut drives neurotechnology commercialization and transformative initiatives like the MIND Prize and UCeed Neuro. He also co-founded Lumiio and OligomicsTx, startups advancing health data solutions and RNA-based therapies for rare diseases.
