Dr. James Dowling is a Professor of Pediatrics and Molecular Genetics at the University of Toronto and a Neurologist and Senior Scientist at the Hospital for Sick Children. He specializes in gene discovery and therapy development for childhood neuromuscular disorders, particularly congenital myopathies and muscular dystrophies.
He chairs the Canadian Paediatric Neuromuscular Group and serves on the scientific advisory boards of Jesse’s Journey, Muscular Dystrophy Canada, and MDA, as well as the executive board of the World Muscle Society. Dr. Dowling is also a member of the NMD4C Steering Committee, where he leads genomics education and participates in trial coordination.
