SUMMARY:Health Data Research Network Canada: Quantifiable Indigenous Concepts: Increasing Precision of Population Analysis by Including “Indian Act” Legislation
DESCRIPTION:Drawing on Canada’s 2021 Census of Population\, Kienan will discuss Quantifiable Indigenous Concepts\, which were developed to strengthen how Indigenous populations are identified and analyzed in quantitative data. He’ll also draw on his lived experience as an Indigenous person represented in population datasets and examine the importance of appropriately representing the approximately 0.9 million people in the Status Indian population.
